My Cultural Bag!!
Rylie M LA 3-4

In my cultural bag I have a breast cancer sign, my dog Cody, Tiggie, a video Camera, and a present. I will tell you them one at a time. The first thing in my cultural bag is the beast cancer sign. When I was three my great grandma died from beast cancer. I learned a lot of things from her. She was a very unique grandma. She showed me how to be strong no matter how hard it is. I was kind of disillusioned about it because I was so little but now I get it. It was a very devastating time for our family. I have a lot of memories of us together. Next I will tell you about my courageous dog Cody.

I put my dog Cody in my cultural bag because he can make a really bad day turn into a superior day. He’s full of joy and happiness. It’s almost every day he tells you to have a marvelous day when you leave for school and he says everything will be ok, when you are having a bad or tough day. He is always there for you through thick and thin. He’s like the one person you can tell anything to. He is my best friend he sis always there for me. That’s why I put him in my cultural bag. Next I will tell you about my stuffed animal tiggie.

One of the other things I put in my bag is my stuffed animal tiggie. I put him in there because ever since I was six I’ve been scared of almost anything. My biggest fear is kidnappers and robbers. I always thought hey wee going to come into the house and kill me. Before we got my dog I had tiggie and he was the guard dog. I had always felt safe around him. So he stands for safety in my cultural bag. My next item in my cultural bag is a video camera.

In my cultural bag I put in a video camera that stands for tradition. My mom and dad have always had a video camera for holidays and birthdays. Ever since I was a baby I have always came down for Christmas for an example with a camera in my face. My family does this so we can remember those moments forever and cherish them forever. I hope to carry on that tradition to my kids, although I have always despised it. Next in my cultural bag is my Christmas tradition.

Every Christmas Eve I always open one present before bed. It is always pajamas. When I put them on I feel the soft fabric with my fingers. It feels so terrific. I’m worm inside of the thick fabric! I look outside and hope to have a white Christmas I can cherish forever. When I wake up I feel the heat from down stairs crawl in to my pajamas and bounce off my skin. I smell the different Christmas breakfast than last years. Still in my pajamas I open all of my Christmas presents and start playing. That is all the wonderful stuff I put in my Cultural bag.
